Welcome to Module 2 of the Introduction to the Scrum Master Profession course.  In this module, we begin with a comparison and contrast of typical project management roles and responsibilities as compared to those in Scrum.  As a Scrum Master, many of the traditional skills and competencies you have as a project manager translate well into Scrum.  In other cases, there are new skills you need to develop.

Next, our Subject Matter Experts (SME) share their thoughts on whether or not someone who does not have a project management background can become an effective Scrum Master.  You will hear their opinions of traditional project management skill sets similar and different in nature to those of Scrum.

Our SME video is followed by an overview of various skill set levels needed to transition to a Scrum Master role.  You will also gain insight into the benefits of becoming a Scrum Master as compared to those of becoming a traditional project manager.

Scrum Master employment opportunities in the current environment, along with some specific job postings will be shared and analyzed.  We’ll discuss where the jobs are! We will also share the various levels of the Scrum Master role and how to climb the Scrum Master career ladder successfully.
